Anti-engagement rings are now a big thing… BRB, just planning my own proposal

Anti-engagement rings are now a big thing... so BRB just planning my own proposal

They are intended to be a celebration of self-love and independence.

Ever heard of the Self Love Pinky Ring? If not, it’s a trend sweeping the internet designed to celebrate women’s independence and self-love.

Want to get engaged but don’t have a significant other? No problem because Self Love Pinky Rings are designed to allow you to propose to yourself, an occurrence that’s more common than you think.

The concept was invented by an American company by the name of Fred and Far with the owner of the company describing how it came about:

“By the beginning of 2015, I had hit every milestone I had ever dreamed of: a great career, husband, kids, a home. And yet, I was lost, unhappy, and disconnected from my true, authentic self due to a profound lack of self love and self care. I desperately needed a bold, beautiful daily reminder to choose, honor and remember myself. So I created one.”

She created a triangle shaped pinky ring as it is a symbol of divine femininity (“look down and you’ll understand why”, she states!) and within a month felt more positive and self-assured for wearing this daily reminder.

The rings are made of 14k yellow, white or rose gold and in all honesty, while the sceptic in me can’t quite see me proposing to myself any day soon, I certainly think it’s a lovely reminder to just be a little less hard on yourself.

Plus, the rings are stunning!
