We’ve spotted some gorgeous hair trends lately including stunning fallayage and the equally fab smoky blond.
However, both of the aforementioned trends are understated so we’ve been looking for something brighter and bolder.
Enter Hollywood Opal.
It’s like unicorn hair but a softer, muted version and we actually love it.
Mike Lowenstein and his wife and business partner, Melody created the look and they’re of the opinion that “softer, delicate colours will dominate 2018 hair trends”.
In conversation with Allure, Mike, who is based in Washington said:
“We cancel the undertones by applying a heavily diluted violet-based toner, then custom mix a variety of pastel direct dyes. It’s applied depending on the results of the previous steps”.
Opal Hollywood is created by dying the hair platinum blonde with stunning pastel tones at the root, think pale lavender and warm peach.
Dreamy.
Mike holds consultations in order to see if the customer’s hair is suitable for the treatment and the colouring process itself is quite detailed.
The best thing is when it grows out, it fades to a “natural blond” which means no in-between colour. We must admit that this has us completely sold on opal hair.
