People are raving about this natural ingredient that can massively help acne

Cathy Donohue

Acne sucks.

The skin condition can be painful and distressing, as anyone who has experienced it personally can attest to.

Earlier in the week, we featured a story about a woman who managed to cure her severe acne by making a number of lifestyle changes to her diet and skincare routine.

There are many contradicting opinions about what actually works to break the vicious cycle of recurring blemishes and the thing is, what works for one person won’t necessarily work for someone else.

However, there’s one thing you may not have tried, aloe vera, and as it’s all natural, we’re definitely willing to give it a go.

Emma Fortini, founder of natural cosmetics line 14e Cosmetics and MUA, is a huge fan of the healing plant and in conversation with Byrdie, she said:

“It helps to fight and prevent breakouts, diminishes surface scarring, and reduces inflammation and redness”.

As aloe vera is often used to treat sunburn, it stands to reason that its healing properties are pretty major and as well as lessening the redness of sunburn, it helps to reduce the redness associated with acne.

If that’s not enough to persuade you, it’s anti-bacterical, anti-inflammatory and wait for it because this is a game changer, it’s a natural source of salicylic acid, a key ingredient for keeping acne at bay.

We’ll be looking out for aloe infused products from now on…
