This stunning colour is going to be the biggest hair trend for 2018

Get in on the trend before everyone else.

Although we're big fans of balayage, unicorn and oil-slick hair, it's been some time since we had a new hair trend so this news is very welcome. Metallic hair is big news for 2018 with silver and gold finishes all the rage for the new season. Although metallics have long been popular for fashion and beauty, introducing these tones to hair isn't quite as common which is why we're so intrigued. The silver and platinum tones here are just gorgeous and just fab now that we're finally starting to see summer weather. The trend has appeared in a pocket of salons up to now but one professional has predicted that it's set to lead the way for 2018. Speaking to Refinery 29, Jack Howard, of London-based-salon, Paul Edmonds, said:

 "We're beginning to see a huge increase in guests asking for metallic-inspired colour in the salon. I think that it's partly due to the transition of the trend from glossy finishes to metallic on the catwalk. We've also seen the metallic element continued into makeup looks".

Jack has been working with L'Oréal on Metals by Majirel and this is designed as a gloss that can be applied to blonde/brunette/red hair that gives you a shiny, metallic hue that lasts up to four weeks. This is a good way to start off if you're feeling this look but don't want to go full-on grey, to begin with anyway.
