A new cat feeding machine has come up with a novel way to keep your feline’s waistline in check. The new technology uses facial recognition to identify the cat and will include a built-in computer dispenser that will release the food once the rightful owner is recognised.
The Bistro Smart Feeder requires the cat to place their head inside the device, meaning greedy neighbourhood cats can’t get their mitts on the food and water for your pet cat.
The feeder also has an app allowing cat owners to monitor their pet’s diet and health, with a built-in camera allowing them to watch the cat eating live on webcam.
Taiwanese inventor Mu-Chi Sung was inspired to create the Bistro Smart Feeder after his own cat Momo almost died from pancreatitis due to his other cats taking more food than they should.
Looking to put the prototype into development, Sung has raised more than $31,000 of a $100,000 goal on crowd-funding site Indiegogo.
