Unless you’re in the minority, chances are you’re not even close to working in your dream job.

New research commissioned by Budweiser has found that eight out of ten Irish people are not working in their dream job.

So whose career are the Irish people pining for?

Well apparently Bono, Rory Mc Ilroy and Michael D. Higgins all topped the poll for Irish men living out their dream ambitions, while Katie Taylor, Imelda May and Cecilia Ahern were the inspiration seen to be keeping their dreams alive for the ladies.

It’s not all about the money, money, money either… 73% of respondents claim their dream job is defined by simply doing something they enjoy, with 63% of people wanting to feel happy every day.

Don’t forget about the importance of a work-life balance either, 50% say the ideal job means they have time to enjoy the finer things in life, while 37% want to make a difference in other people’s lives.

The research was conducted as part of this year’s Budweiser Dream Job competition, where you can apply to win a €50,000 fund to bring you one step closer to working at what makes you passionate.

Closing date for entries to this over 18s competition is Wednesday, February 4th. Full details for entry available on the Budweiser Facebook page.
