Who will play Britney Spears in the movie about her life?
A Britney Spears biopic is reportedly in the works and the singer herself is involved in the production.
It was confirmed this week that Universal had landed the rights to the singer's bestselling memoir The Woman In Me.
According to Variety, director Jon M. Chu has signed up to direct the biopic.
Marc Platt has also joined the production and will develop the feature alongside the Wicked director.
Universal won the rights after an intense bidding war.
There's no doubt the biopic will be one of the most anticipated projects in pop culture history.
Britney herself hinted at the project on Twitter this week.
She teased, "Excited to share with my fans that I've been working on a secret project with #MarcPlatt. He’s always made my favorite movies … stay tuned."
The movie will be based on her emotional memoir but the cast has not yet been chosen.
Britney fans have suggested Renee Rapp, Millie Bobby Brown, and Julia Garner as potential lead stars.
Other fans also suggested Madelyn Cline and Florence Pugh.
There's no doubt the leading actress will have a lot of pressure on her shoulders when it comes to portraying the singer.
Speaking about her memoir, Britney said it's the most honest she's ever been so fans have high hopes for her biopic.
"I poured my heart and soul into my memoir, and I am grateful to my fans and readers around the world for their unwavering support."
