When it comes to getting by with a little help from your friends, it helps to have friends in high places.
Lucky New Yorker John Dann had Beatles legend Paul McCartney to call on over the weekend as he popped the question.
Sixty-four-year-old John was at McCartney’s Albany, NY gig over the weekend with his partner Claudia Rodgers. Rodgers carried a sign to the concert that read “’He won’t marry me ’til he meets you”, while Dann carried one reading “I’ve got the ring and ‘I’m 64”.
The signs caught the eye of the singer, who brought the pair on stage during a second encore. He then invited John to sing the Beatles hit When I’m 64, which he launched into with gusuto before dropping on bended knee and asking a clearly thrilled Claudia to marry him.
The couple met through a dating website and have been together for eight years.
