Amanda Bynes’ parents, Lynn and Richard Bynes, have been granted temporary conservatoship over their daughter’s estate.
California judge Glen Reiser ruled yesterday, August 9th, that her parents should have limited control over their daughter’s personal affairs, including her medical treatment, according to the Guardian.

The court ruled that currently the mental health court has control over Bynes’ medical treatment. However, if she is discharged from hospital, her mother can decide on the course of her treatment.
Bynes has currently been under observation in a mental health facility since last month. She was placed in hospital after she set a small fire outside her house in Thousand Oaks, California.
It is extremely rare for a judge to grant conservatorship in the case of adults, but the hospital where Bynes is currently being held have been granted a 30 day extension because she is “gravely disabled because of mental illness.”
Lynn Bynes also has temporary control of her financial affairs.
