Anna Wintour and Bill Nighy made it red carpet official – what else do we know about the Vogue editor’s life

At this year's Met Gala, Anna Wintour appeared to confirm her rumoured romance with Bill Nighy, but it leaves one question; how much do we actually know about her personal life? Anna is no stranger to the limelight and each May she makes headlines for the coveted Met Gala and her input in it - not to mention her huge involvement with Vogue Magazine. Anna has served as the editor-in-chief of Vogue since 1988 and the Global Chief Content Officer for Condé Nast since 2020. She is also the artistic director of Condé Nast and the Global Editorial Director of Vogue, not to mention being co-chair of the Met Gala since 1995. Taking the event last night, Anna was joined by the 'Love Actually' star as they linked and posed for pictures. The two were first romantically linked back in 2021 when they were spotted on a dinner date together, but nothing was ever confirmed. In December of last year, the rumours only spiralled more when the 73-year-old was seen attending a private screening of Bill’s film ‘Living’ at The Crosby Hotel in New York. The two now seem to have confirmed their romance as they arrived arm-in-arm to the biggest event in fashion, as well as her career. Anna previously married a child psychiatrist, David Shaffer in 1984. The couple had two children together, Charles who was born in 1985 and Katherine who was born in 1987. The two ultimately split in 1999, with many news publications and gossip columns claiming the reason was due to an affair Anna had with investor Shelby Bryan. While she declined to ever comment on this, a former colleague was quoted in the Observer claiming that Bryan "mellowed her" and that she "smiles now and has been seen to laugh". Anna ended up staying with Bryan for many years until they split in 2020. Now dating Bill, who has never been married before but was in a relationship with long term partner Diana Quick. The two first began dating in 1982 and remained together until 2008.
