Apparently, Duchess Kate was stopped from doing one thing when she was pregnant

Apparently, there was one thing Duchess Kate wasn’t able to do during her pregnancy.

There’s a lot of speculation when it comes to what members of the royal family can and can’t do and of course, they’re never going to confirm any of the reports.

The latest rumour concerns the Duchess of Cambridge and the fact that she reportedly wasn’t permitted to have a baby shower during her pregnancy… that doesn’t sound very fair to us.

A baby shower is an opportunity to have your family and friends around to celebrate the fact that you’re about to have a baby and although it’s not to everyone’s taste, we figure you should be allowed to have the option nonetheless.

However, apparently, baby showers are viewed as “inappropriate” in royal circles.

Victoria Arbiter, a royal expert for ABC News previously said that there’s “an added pressure that they are clearly very wealthy, and a lavish baby shower would be seen as highly inappropriate”.

She continued on:

“There’s nothing they can’t go out and buy themselves.”

Fair point but if Duchess Kate wanted to celebrate her pregnancy with her nearest and dearest, surely she should be able to?

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting their first child and it will be interesting to see if Meghan decides to have a baby shower when it gets close to the birth.

Kensington Palace says the baby is due in spring 2019 but that hasn’t stopped royal fans from trying to work out the exact due date of her pregnancy as you’ll see here.
