Conspiracy theories.
There are a load of them.
Bush being responsible for 9/11 is one. The earth being flat is another. The government controlling us via chemtrails is another that people enjoy to speculate about from time to time.
None of the above, however, are quite as tumultuous and shocking as the recent conspiracy involving Love Island sweethearts, Megan Barton Hanson and Wes Nelson.
The pair announced their suspiciously amicable split over the weekend via a statement on Megan’s Instagram saying they had decided to bring their relationship to an end.
They also added that they would continue to “co-parent” their hamster and requested that the three of them are granted privacy during this difficult time.

To be honest, the whole thing seemed like a bit of a joke considering how absolutely mad about each other they were during Love Island – and subsequently, after.
Things got even stranger when Wes decided to simply ignore the whole breakup situation and instead started posting memes about his split.
Megan also announced that she was still going to be supporting Wes’s Dancing On Ice journey – a venture she had previously slammed when his partner, Vanessa Bauer, broke up with her boyfriend and seemingly “didn’t invite” Megan to come watch them skate.
The bizarre-ness was only amplified last night when Megan appeared in the DOI audience to support her ex, all smiles, barely one day after announcing their split.

So, either Megan and Wes are having the most mature, amicable, absolutely ideal breakup in the history of the world… or they’re lying and aren’t actually broken up at all.
This would actually make a lot of sense seeing as Megan’s ‘statement’ mirrored Gwyneth Paltrow’s “conscious uncoupling” line when she and Chris Martin ended things all those years ago.
It’s too much of a piss take to actually be serious… Surely.
Either way, people are convinced they’re just going to get back together in a few weeks once Wes is finished DOI.
