Apparently, this is the most dangerous celebrity to search for online

She’s one of the most recognisable celebrities in the world.

But it turns out that trying to Keep Up With the Kardashians could actually be putting your cyber security at risk – at least, if you’re googling Kim Kardashian West.

A recent survey by cybersecurity firm McAfee found that the mum-of-three is the most dangerous celebrity to search for online in the UK [via Cosmopolitan].

A spokesperson for the firm explained that cybercriminals often prey on internet users by noting their more commonly used search terms.

They then trick the users into clicking into links that have those terms – which may lead them to malicious websites, or encourage them to reveal personal details.

Which is really bad news if you’re simply trying to find out more information about KKW Beauty, or just Kim’s latest #OOTD.

McAfee fellow and chief scientist Raj Samani said:

“We live in a fast-paced world that’s heavily influenced by pop culture and social media, with endless opportunities to pick and choose which entertainment options we prefer to enjoy from a variety of connected devices.

“With Kim Kardashian’s influence and business ventures, people will go to extreme lengths to be a little more like Kim.

“In our hyper-connected world, it’s important for consumers to think before they click to be sure that they are surfing to safe digital content and protecting themselves from cybersecurity threats that may be used to infect their devices or steal their identity.”

Among the list of “dangerous” celebrities were Courtney Kardashian, Caroline Flack, Adele and Naomi Campbell.
