Ariana Grande pays subtle tribute to Mac Miller during her Sweetener world tour

A subtle nod.

Ariana Grande kicked off her Sweetener world tour on Monday night, March 18. Opening the highly anticipated tour in Albany, New York, fans praised the star for her sweet tribute to Mac ahead of the show.

According to fans, Ariana had Mac Miller tracks playing ahead of her gig in the arena as people went to find their seats, purchase merch and grab a drink.

Ariana dated Mac Miller for two years prior to his overdose on Septemeber 7, 2018. And although the pair weren't an item at the time Mac passed, the star still had great love for the rapper calling him the "sweetest soul" in an emotional message about his passing.

It comes as no surprise that Ariana credited Mac this way as she even got a tattoo to honour the star after his passing. Tattooing Myron, the name of Mac's dog.

But, it's safe to say fans loved that Ariana featured the rapper.

Since the concert kickstarted this week, fans have been giving rave reviews and from the sneak peek we've seen online of her set and costumes - if you've got tickets for one of her Irish dates, you're in for a treat.
