Last week, Ariana Grande announced she was taking a break from the spotlight.

The star who has decided to put her shows and appearances on pause is reportedly taking “time to heal” following the death of her ex-boyfriend of two years, Mac Miller.

Mac Miller passed away on September 7, 2018, after a suspected overdose and since, the star has been laying low.

Last week, a spokesperson for the Dangerous Woman star spoke to PEOPLE saying:

“Contrary to reports, Ariana will not be attending the Emmys tonight. Pete has also opted to not attend to be with her in New York.

“Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend. She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without a deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding.”

Ariana also shared her mourning over the death of Mac sharing a video of him which she captioned saying:

“I’m so mad, I’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away.”

And now, it appears as though the star is minding the rapper’s dog, Mylon. Fans noticed the dog in one of the rare posts Ariana has shared since Mac’s death.

Mac first adopted Mylon in Jan, 2017, when the rapper was still dating Ariana Grande.

We’re unsure if Ariana is taking care of the dog permanently but for now he seems to be in her care, which is definitely comforting the star during this difficult time.
