The Duchess is 40 today.
Best wishes have been paid by members of the royal family to Meghan Markle to mark her 40th birthday.
The Duchess of Sussex, who recently welcomed her second child with Prince Harry, turns 40 today, August 4th. It’s expected that this milestone will be a low-key affair for Meghan, but that hasn’t stopped the rest of the royals from wishing her a very happy birthday.
Harry and Meghan exited the royal family at the beginning of last year, citing their own mental health, issues with the British press, and overt racism within The Firm as their reasons for leaving.
Prince William later stated that the royals are “very much not a racist family,” after Meghan told Oprah that questions were asked about the potential colour of her unborn baby’s skin.
Regardless, it appears as though the royals are determined to put up a harmonious front as each of their social media accounts took to the social sphere today to wish Meghan the best.

And the Queen added her own well wishes including an array of photos of Meghan, the Queen, and the royal family. “Wishing The Duchess of Sussex a very Happy Birthday today!” the message read.

Harry and Meghan’s decision to speak out about their experience in the royal family had seemingly been criticised by other members of the Firm, however it does appear as if Harry and William recently put their issues aside to attend what would have been their mother’s 60th birthday.
What’s more is that Harry has always said he still has a close relationship with his grandmother, the Queen. The prince announced last month that he has plans to write a tell-all book about his time as a senior royal – a move which may complicate that relationship every so slightly, but hey, we’re excited to read it.
Either way, happy birthday Meghan – you deserve it, girl.
