Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera Were “Very Close.” Who Knew?

Ever since Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera broke onto the music scene as fresh-faced teens in the late 90s, there have been rumours of feuds, back-stabbing and general bitchiness.

However, was there any truth in these rumours? Apparently not, according to Christina who has said that despite what the media reported, herself and Britney were actually “very close.” But is this the truth?

HeatWorld reports that the two divas are set to go head-to-head in a battle for television ratings next month as Christina picks up her role as a coach on The Voice again and Britney makes her judging debut on The X-Factor USA. Surely this is likely to inspire some competition between the pair?

“I came up with Britney. Mickey Mouse Club, we were very close. Our paths have always crossed and they continue to cross,” said Christina, speaking during a press junket for the new series of The Voice.

“I welcome her to this family of fun and entertainment and finding new talent. I don’t know what she’s going to offer specifically, but I know she’s a pro and she’s going to give, I think, great advice,” added Christina.
