Britney Spears opens a children's cancer facility in Nevada
Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation has opened up a Britney Spears Campus.
The Britney Spears Campus honors the star who donated one million dollars (€860,622) to the cause and creation of this new cancer facility. All the funds raised came from the ticket sales of her Piece of Me show residency in Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas.
Saturday, the mother-of-two opened the facility at the official opening saying: "I’m just really excited to be standing here for our new NCCF campus. We started fundraising in 2014 and we’ve raised one million to build this amazing facility to support the kids and the families everywhere. I’m so thankful to everyone for their generosity in making this a reality and making this happen."
Britney looked proud and radiant as she stood in front of the crowd in a black pencil dress alongside NCCF CEO Jeff Gordon and her boyfriend Sam Ashgari.
NCCF CEO Jeff Gordon said at the ceremony: "We can’t thank Britney enough being able to do this. Our dream for many, many years has been to be able to have one building that all of our 45 programs can come together in one place. And that we are able to to today. That doesn’t happen without someone like Britney Spears."
"We saw a side of Britney Spears that so many people maybe don’t have the opportunity to see. You realise what a special person Britney is. She’s an incredible performer, we know all that, but she does care and the more we’ve gotten to know her, the more grateful we’ve become to her, and the kids have adored her."
The facility will provide much needed cancer care and treatment for sick children.
