The singer detailed the turbulent and embarrassing episode in her autobiography 'Cheryl: My Story', which she released last year.
"Simon didn't even have the guts to phone or send a message warning me what was coming," she admitted.
"I was furious... I believed we had a good friendship and I couldn't understand why he hadn't been straight with me."
The star has sued executives at Blue Orbit Productions, the team behind the show, for a total of $2.3 million (€1.7 million).
Cole received $1.8 million for short stint, but was seeking money for the second season and in unpaid wages and expenses.
The case has now been settled out of court and details of the settlement have not been made public.
A spokesman for the star said, "Cheryl's dispute with Blue Orbit has been resolved amicably."
Cowell and Cole have since patched up their friendship, with the media mogul purchasing Cheryl a 'Lady' title for her 30th Birthday earlier in the year.Explore more on these topics:
