How does Chris Martin think you should prepare to sing a love song? Think about Harry Styles from One Direction apparently – at least that was his advice to a contestant on The Voice USA.
Coldplay’s front man, who is appearing on the show to assist judge Shakira’s hopefuls before they enter the battles stage of the competition, was talking to contestant Deja Hall about connecting to a romantic song.
Coach Shakira told the British musician during Hall’s rehearsals of the song Say Something by A Great Big World that she has never been in love and “she’s always found it difficult to connect emotionally to romantic songs.”
Chris’ solution?:
“What about Harry Styles? I mean, me too, by the way.”
We’re assuming Chris meant connecting to love songs, rather than thinking of the 1D pin-up to prepare for a ballad – saying that, stranger things have happened.
We think she mastered the tip pretty well.
