Chris O’Dowd Isn’t Great When it Comes to Meeting Famous People…

Girls, let’s be honest. Chris O’Dowd is a bit of a legend, isn’t he? He’s hilarious, he’s charming, he’s Irish and best of all? Well, he tends to get tongue tied around celebrities, just like the rest of us.

“Oh, for sure [I get star struck]. I met Clint Eastwood. What the f**k? And Jerry Seinfeld. I went to see him at The O2 and met him after,” said Chris, speaking to Shortlist magazine.

“We had this really funny moment where we were having pictures taken. I’m quite a tactile person and I put my arm around him. And he said, ‘I don’t know if it’s necessary for a man to put his hands on another man’s waist.’ So I can still manage to be terribly awkward in the presence of famous people,” he added.

Chris is currently in Toronto at the Film Festival with his new bride Dawn Porter and in terms of his career, he’s set to appear in Judd Apatow’s new comedy This is 40. He’s also going to be making a few cameos in some well-known sitcoms over the coming months.

Chris recently married his long term girlfriend, journalist Dawn Porter.

Chris has said that his career is driven by his ambition, but he still considers himself to be relatively laid back.

“You can be both,” said Chris.

“I definitely have a lot of things I want to do. So I’m not embarrassed or ashamed about having ambition and wanting to do things. If I wasn’t, then I’d still be working in a bar somewhere,” he added.
