Kyla took out her phone and began filming when a man wouldn't leave her alone.
Kyla Cobbler, a comedian from Cork, has shared a frightening experience she recently experienced while on holidays in Barcelona.
Taking to
Instagram, Kyla posted a video in which she confronts a man who she says had been
following her home for 10 minutes.
In her caption, Kyla, who hails from Ballincollig, explained what happened.
She wrote: "This man followed me home last night all the way from el born to gotico. I confronted him and started filming him."
She explained that he left her alone after confronting him, but then started
following her again. It wasn't until another man intervened that he finally left.
Kyla said: "He cycled away when I had my phone out but when I put it away he followed me again he didn’t leave me alone until the lovely homeless man that lives outside my house told him to leave me alone."
She continued: "Please share to your female friends and let's keep each other safe. We got this because we got each other."
In the video, Kyla is seen confronting the man on the bike as he offers her a can of beer from his pocket.
Many took to the comments section of Kyla's post to applaud her for confronting him.
TikToker Miriam Mullins wrote: "Fair play Kyla."
Personal trainer Maeve Madden wrote: "Kyla omg you are so brave and you shouldn't even need to be !!"
Another fan wrote that they could "sense the fear" in Kyla's voice, and reflected that it's a fear many women have while walking home at night.
"Well done you for being so brave and quick and clever to use your phone and capture this and make his face known," she wrote. "Glad you are safe."
Another Instagram user wrote: "Fair play for standing up to him Kyla and well done for sharing. This kinda stuff happens all to often all over the world and something really needs to be done about it."
