Corrie actor wants Gary Windass to have an affair with a very unexpected choice

Coronation Street's Mikey North has revealed that he wants his character Gary Windass to have an affair - and who with.

And, if we're being honest, we're totally on board. The actor appeared on Lorraine yesterday [August 31], where he talked about his Coronation Street career to date, including bringing down "the biggest baddie the show's ever had" aka: Pat Phelan. Speaking to Rochelle Humes, who is currently replacing Lorraine Kelly, he also revealed what kind of storyline he would like to see next for his character. He said:

"I think my dream would be an affair with Rita. I love Barbara to pieces. Hopefully that might materialise."

"It wasn't a chosen break, it was just the way it goes sometimes. It was the end of a big storyline, when we got rid of Pat Phelan. "But I'm back there now and looking forward to some good stuff coming up.

The actor, who joined Coronation Street in 2008, admitted that he hadn't expected to stay on the cobbles that long. He said:

"I signed up for three years when I first went in. I thought that'd be it, but here we are, 10, 11 years on."
