Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s Rachel Bloom is expecting her first child

Jade Hayden

A massive congrats to all involved.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend‘s Rachel Bloom is expecting her first child.

The actor and writer announced the news during last night’s Creative Emmys, where she also took home an award for best original music and lyrics.

Bloom said that she was going to share an Instagram post to break the news, but eventually decided to do it at the event instead.

“I’m pregnant, so that’s what’s next for me!” she said.

“I might as well do it at an Emmys press conference right? I was going to post an Instagram, but yeah! I’m three months pregnant.

“I get to tell my child she was with me when this happened, which is really fucking cool.”

Bloom, who is married to fellow comedy writer Dan Gregor, is best known for her work on the critically acclaimed show, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

The series follows Bloom as Rebecca Bunch, a woman who moves back to her home town in the hope of rekindling her romance with an old flame who has, naturally, very much moved on.

The show has been praised for its feminist undertones, progressive attitude towards mental health and, of course, its catchy songs.

Bloom took home the Creative Emmy for her original song, ‘Antidepressants Are So Not A Big Deal’ last night.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend ended after 61 episodes earlier this year. Much of the cast are now appearing on Broadway and touring around the states.
