Sending our love and prayers to the star.

Abby Lee Miller has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

One day after undergoing emergency surgery which doctors initially thought was due to a spinal infection is now confirmed to be non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer that develops in the lymphatic system.

The 51-year-old was rushed into surgery yesterday after complaining to suffer from excruciating neck pain and weakness in her arm. Dr. Melamed then performed emergency surgery for a multi-level laminectomy however, after more tests and the surgery not going as well as expected, it is reported that the star has been given a “preliminary diagnosis pending pathology and oncology results” PEOPLE reports.

Dr. Hooman M. Melamed, an orthopedic spine surgeon at Cedar Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital who has been treating the star, spoke to the publisher saying:

“It was not an infection, it was a type of a non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma – it’s a type of a cancer, we’re getting an oncologist involved and we have to figure out what the next steps are as far as chemotherapy or radiation or more spine surgery. Depending on the tumor type, depending on the sensitivity of the tumor – it just depends the type but I feel more than yes, she will undergo chemotherapy or radiation.”

The Dance Moms star has also been serving time in prison having been given a 366 day sentence for committing bankruptcy fraud. She’s reportedly scheduled to finish her sentence on May 25, where she will then spend two more years on supervised release for bankruptcy fraud.

Speaking on her sentence earlier this year, Miller said:

“Sometimes in life you make mistakes I trusted the wrong people and didn’t pay any attention to things I should of. I’m more than sorry for the mistakes I have made.”

Abby Miller continues to recover in the ICU as of today, Thursday April 19 and Dr. Melamed says she seemed “encouraged.”

We send her our love and prayers.
