If you're a Daniel O'Donnell fan then you may want to be wary of any potential WhatsApp messages doing the rounds.
Apparently, a message on the app is being sent around by a person pretending to be the singer.
The Irish singer’s fan club magazine released a statement saying: “There is currently a person on WhatsApp using an image of Daniel and his name ‘Daniel O’Donnell’, who is looking for a donation online for seemingly charitable purposes.”
“Please be aware that this is not Daniel, as Daniel never messages his fans on WhatsApp, and as this person is using Daniel’s image to try and get money from unsuspecting followers, this is regarded as fraud."
It continued: “Anyone who gets a message from this ‘rogue Daniel’ needs to report it immediately through WhatsApp – as there is an option to do so – to block this person.”
It also warned fans about Facebook, saying that Daniel never uses Messenger on Facebook, therefore any messages on seemingly coming from Daniel on the site are also fake.
