He died by suicide in July – shocking his many fans as well as the wider music industry.

And now Chester Bennington’s devastated wife has shared heartbreaking footage which shows him laughing with his family just hours before his sudden death.

The 40-second video was posted to Twitter on Sunday. In an accompanying caption, Talinda Bennington states: “This is what depression looked like to us just 36 hrs b4 his death.

“He loved us SO much & we loved him.”

The video shows Chester sitting beside his son as they tucked into oddly-flavoured jelly beans.

Prior to her sharing the footage, Talinda admitted that the tweet was the “most personal tweet I have ever done”.

“I’m doing it to show that depression doesn’t have a face or a mood,” she added.

The Linkin Park frontman was 41 when he died on July 20; he has six children.

Also this week, Mr Bennington’s 15-year-old son, Draven, released three videos for National Suicide Prevention Week; one of those shows the teenager stating: “I want to make a commitment that I will talk to someone before I hurt myself when I’m feeling depressed, sad or going through a hard week, month or year.’

He continues: “I want to challenge you to do the same – to help yourself, not hurt yourself.”

During his life, Chester had discussed his mental health issues, saying that he was sexually abused by an older male as a child.

He had also struggled with drugs and alcohol addiction.

Linkin Park released their most recent album, One More Light, in May of this year – an album which topped the charts around the world.

Chester was close friends with Chris Cornell, who also died by suicide in May.
