Doireann Garrihy on how she handles getting up at the crack of dawn

Olivia Hayes

Yes, getting up IS hard.

If you’re a morning person, then you’re probably wondering what all the fuss is about. However, if you dread your alarm clock going off in the A.M. then we get you.

Not being a morning person means that you’re most likely grumpy for the first hour of your day, will hit the snooze button multiple times and bark at anyone that even utters ‘good morning’ to you.

So, we can’t even imagine what it’s like for Doireann Garrihy as she has to arise bright and early for her 2FM Breakfast show.

Taking to Instagram, Doireann answered questions asked by her fans and one of them was how is she dealing with the early mornings.

She said: “Because it’s summer time and it’s actually bright when my alarm goes off at 4.30, it hasn’t been so bad. I’ve been getting about six hours of sleep a night and I’m trying to nap for two hours during the day to get my eight hours.

“I’m getting there. The only thing is I’m wrecked at the weekends so I’ve been an absolute drip for the past eight weeks at weekends.

“I keep falling asleep everywhere, my mam came over there and was like ‘Are you yawning again?!'”

We actually can’t imagine it!
