Duke and Duchess of Cambridge share the name of their third child

Cathy Donohue

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

The guessing game is over.

Ever since Kensington Palace announced the Duchess of Cambridge was expecting her third child, people have been attempting to guess the name of the third royal baby.

There were a number of favourites in the running including Arthur, James and Albert and those who had the name right are sure to be delighted with themselves.

And now we finally have the name.

Announced on Twitter right now, The Duke and Duchess has named their baby Louis Arthur Charles.

The little boy, a brother to Prince George and Princess Charlotte was born on Monday morning just after 11 am.

Weighing 8lbs 7oz, the news was announced to the world at 1 pm via social media in a series of tweets.

Kate, also known as Catherine, wore a red Jenny Packham dress with a Peter Pan collar to present her baby boy to the world on Monday evening, less than eight hours after giving birth.

People originally thought the colour choice was because Princess Diana also wore this colour combination when leaving the hospital with Prince Harry but it turns out there’s another possible reason.

The 23 April marks St George’s Day and the colours red and white are traditionally worn by those celebrating the feast day.
