Ekin-Su says she laughs at Dancing On Ice “curse”

“If I hear one more thing about this dancing on ice curse I will laugh very hard.”

Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has laughed off the idea of a Dancing on Ice ‘curse’ after revealing her skating partner.

The idea behind the ‘curse’ is that the celebrity contestant on shows like Dancing on Ice or Strictly Come Dancing may jeopardise their relationship by getting too close to their professional partner.

Ekin-Su, however, has no such concerns, and even admitted to laughing off the idea.

After announcing her Dancing on Ice partner – Brendyn Hatfield – on Instagram, Ekin-Su took to Twitter to share her reaction to the ‘curse’.

“If I hear one more thing about this dancing on ice curse I will laugh very hard,” she said. “Dear oh me… well at least my man fully supports me.”

She later added: “Oooo I’m so scared the curse oooooo… bahahahaahaha…oh I love it (…) me and Davide are laughing at the comments.”

Ekin-Su will compete on the show alongside Darren Harriott, The Vivienne, Mollie Gallagher, Nile Wilson, Patsy Palmer, John Fashanu, Michelle Heaton, Siva Kaneswaran and Joey Essex.

The reality competition show starts on ITV in January 2023.

When Ekin-Su was named as one of the celebrities taking part, she shared that she was “so excited”.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, she said: “I’ve got some amazing news to tell you, I’m going to be doing this year’s Dancing on Ice! I’m so excited, I can’t wait to get myself on the ice and skate. Stay tuned and see you on the ice.”
