Scottish singer Emeli Sandé has told fans that it feels like “a weight has been lifted”, as she shares the first snap of her new girlfriend Yoana Karemova.
In a post shared to Instagram, Emeli introduced Yoana, writing: “It’s taken me many years to find the strength to be myself. I’ve struggled for a long time to accept myself as I am.
“I’m so lucky to have found my soul mate Yoana, she’s such an extraordinary woman! Falling in love with her gave me the strength I needed! Feels so good to be in love and I feel happier than ever.”
As she continued, she thanked fans for being so supportive.
She wrote: “I’m deeply touched by all your messages of love and supply. Thank you so much for your acceptance and kind wishes. Feels like a huge weight has been lifted, here’s to a new beginning in truth and happiness.”

According to Metro, Emeli’s partner Yoana is a classically trained musician.
When asked by the publication if she is bisexual, Emeli said: “I’m not sure what I identify as, but I guess so. . I just feel like I should fall in love with whoever I fall in love with.”
