It’s official: Emma Stone and Saturday Night Live writer Dave McCary are engaged.
The couple were first publicly romantically linked in October 2017, but are thought to have been dating for a few months before that.
McCary took to Instagram on Wednesday night to share their happy news, posting a photo of the two of them beaming at the camera – with Stone showing off her gorgeous ring.
He captioned it with a heart emoji – and friends and fans rushed to congratulate the couple on their big news.

McCary and Stone first met when the actress was the celebrity host of Saturday Night Live towards the end of 2016. She starred in the sketch, Wells For Boys, which was directed by McCary.
The couple have been dating sine 2017, but have kept their romance largely under wraps.
However, Emma spoke to Elle last year about how her perspective on marriage and kids had changed as she grew older.
“My perspective about kids has changed as I’ve gotten older. I never babysat or anything. As a teenager, I was like, I’m never getting married, I’m never having kids,” she explained. “And then I got older and I was like, I really want to get married, I really want to have kids.”
