Engaged! Soap Star is Set to Tie The Knot with Partner

Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick is the latest celeb to announce wedding bells in her near future. Michelle, who plays Vanessa Woodfield on the ITV soap, told BBC radio that she popped the question to her partner Rosie Nicholl on New Year’s Eve. The couple have been together for over two years, and were enjoying a New Year’s break in Gran Canaria when Michelle went down on one knee. Michelle, pictured with her partner Rosie  Speaking on air, Hardwick said: "We were in Gran Canaria on holiday and it was about 9.30 at night and I got down on one knee. "I'd had the ring for over a year. My mum is the manager of a jewellers so I'd had it sized and everything. I was thinking, 'I hope it still fits!' and it did. I was thinking, 'Her fingers will have swollen up with the heat of Gran Canaria', but it was fine." Hardwick also confessed that she had been planning a Christmas Day proposal, but when Rosie’s younger sister announced her engagement that morning she postponed her plans. Michelle revealed that she is planning “quite a big do”, but said they are likely not to opt for any magazine deal, as she felt the big day should really be just for family and friends to enjoy.
