He influenced the spheres of music, fashion, art and film in a way that render him immortal in his far-ranging legacy. Much like the late great David Bowie, he was a ridiculously talented polymath who inspired some of the greatest artists who came in his wake. But it seems that counts for nought for a surprising number of people, who are blissfully unaware of the legendary icon of our times.
