Fashion Forward: Olivia Palermo is working it at New York Fashion Week

There is intense pressure to look good at Fashion Week considering you are constantly surrounded by gorgeous clothes and beautiful models.

Choosing outfits may prove a struggle but Olivia Palermo is certainly rising to the challenge.

Her role in MTV’s The City catapulted her into the spotlight but Olivia’s sense of style has made her a fashion icon in her own right. She wore a tailored Rachel Zoe navy dress coat over a colourful Tibi mini-dress to the Peter Som show on Saturday.

To attend the Rebecca Minkhoff show later that day she changed into a stunning monochrome Rebecca Minkhoff maxi skirt which she teamed with a black and white shirt and obligatory shades.

Miss Palermo has been giving her fans regular updates on the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week events via her personal website, together with daily outfit posts.

She has only just returned from Australia where she appeared as a special guest at a fashion event at Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne.

The style icon has earned a name for herself as a style icon and blogger, and employs two full-time writers to help with the upkeep of her project.

Olivia recently spoke to Vogue Australia about her top styling tips for the year ahead. “Keep it simple. Layering white on white is big again this year, with sharp silhouettes and intriguing textures elevating a clean palette to fashion-forward status. “

The style blogger also suggests using accessories to add pops of colour and keeping make up minimal so as not to distract from the main focus which is your outfit.
