It appears Ed Sheeran does not take criticism lying down, even if it’s from rock legend Morrissey.
Former Smiths frontman Morrissey voiced his frustration with today’s “obvious and predictable” music industry this weekend, singling Ed out in a negative way.
The former Smiths frontman lashed out this weekend.
The outspoken 56-year-old told Boulder Weekly: “It’s very rare that a record label does something for the good of music.
“Thus we are force-fed such as Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, which at least means that things can’t possibly get any worse.”
The singer will play two sold out gigs in Croke Park this month.
Ed, who recently addressed romance rumours, didn’t waste any time in taking to Twitter to hit back at the music veteran’s comments.
Directing the tweet at NME, he wrote: “Even you guys should think this is absolute b**locks.
“Taking me out of the equation, Sam was the least predictable success story of the last year.”
@NME even you guys should think this is absolute bollocks. Taking me out of the equation, Sam was the least … http://t.co/QMLhbqZTkS

Despite what Morrissey may think, the Photograph singer is obviously doing something right as he is set to play to two sold out gigs in Croke Park later this month.
