Gaz from Geordie Shore Forced to Apologise After Starting “Disgusting” Twitter Trend

Gary ‘Gaz’ Beadle, of Geordie Shore fame, was forced to make an apology today after some comments he made on Twitter sparked a bizarre new trend.

The Daily Mail reports that a few days ago, Gaz tweeted the following to his 500,000 followers: “How many people r doing the walk of shame hahaha #wakeupwitharandom #awkwardtaxihome.”

The tweets had only been live for a few seconds before Gav’s followers responded by sending him pictures of their half-dressed ‘conquests’ sleeping in the bed beside them. Let’s just say the hashtag #bedofshame quickly became a trending topic.

Needless to say, the trend sparked outrage and women’s groups branded it as being ‘sickening’ and ‘disgusting’

“I am sorry to anyone who’s been offended by my recent behaviour on Twitter. I’d like to apologise to fans of Geordie Shore, my Twitter followers, my fellow cast members and to MTV,” said Gaz in a statement.

“I have really let myself down…all I can do is apologise and ask that anyone that has posted photos or comments to please delete them. I’ve already done the same,” he added.

But some of Gav’s male followers immediately defended the trend, saying that it was simply a ‘laugh’ and just a bit of ‘banter.’
