George and Amal Clooney have donated over $1 million to Covid-19 relief funds.
The couple have donated a portion of their fortune to several charities and foundations providing necessities and support to those worst affected by the outbreak.
Deadline reports that the Clooneys have donated $250,000 each to The Motion Picture and Television Fund, the SAG-AFTRA FUND, and Los Angeles Mayors Fund.
They have also donated an additional $300,000 to the NHS, Lebanese Food Bank, and Lombardo Italy Region.
George Clooney is a member of the board of The Motion Picture and Television Fund, a group that has been providing temporary financial assistance for issues caused or complicated by Covid-19, including health insurance, mental health support, food, and other essentials.
The other supports mentioned provide food, shelter, medical expenses, childcare facilities, and other essential needs for frontline workers, the vulnerable, as well as those worst affected by the outbreak.
George and Amal join a long list of A-list celebrities who have been donating millions of dollars to various funds and charities since the pandemic began.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were among the first to donate to food banks in America and Canada, while Rihanna's Clara Lionel Foundation pledged to donate $5 million to Covid-19 efforts around the world.
