Giving Back Or Avoiding Prison? Lindsay Lohan Wants To Start A Charity For Young People

We think it’s pretty safe to say that the days of Lindsay Lohan being a ‘wholesome’ role model for young people have seriously passed, however, according to reports today Lindsay’s lawyers want her to start a foundation to “benefit young people.”

Celebrity gossip website RadarOnline.com reports that Lindsay’s New York-based criminal attorney wants the troubled actress to set up the Lindsay Lohan Foundation in order to show compassion and her willingness to give back.

According to a letter written to prosecutors who are currently handling Lindsay’s criminal case of lying to the police, Mark Heller, her lawyer, writes:

“Lindsay will be praticipating in intensive psychotherapy, submitting herself to regular screening and contributing her time to the production of public service messages and periodic visits to schools, hospitals, and other venues where she may provide inspirational talks, encouraging children to pursue positve goals and avoid bad habits.”

Lindsay’s lawyer is also keen to have the actress sit down with prosecutors so she can “express her sincerest desire to share her thoughts and help in the process of our determination what the best course would be for her future and to personally affirm her commitment and dedication to fix the problems.”

Lindsay’s current criminal charges of lying to the police stem from a car accident that the actress was involved in last summer. Lindsay is accused of lying to the authorities when she told them that she wasn’t driving the car at the time of the accident.

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for this Friday and the trial itself will begin in March 18th. Will Lindsay’s new charity plans help her to wiggle off the hook? Only time will tell...
