A wonderful tribute to her memory.

Last week it was reported that actor Naya Rivera disappeared while boating with her four-year-old son Josey in Lake Piru.

To the heartbreak of many, Naya’s body was later found having drowned accidentally.

Police said that given the account her four-year-old was able to tell them, they believe both Naya and Josey were swimming and got into difficulty.

Naya managed to get her son back into the boat but was unable to pull herself up. Lake Piru is known for having strong under currents.

Since the discovery of Naya’s body family and friends have been rallying around her young son Josey.

Most recently Glee creators, the show on which Naya played her most famous character Santana, pledged to support Josey by setting up a college fund for him.

This week Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan announced that they are in the process of creating a college fund to honour her memory;

“Our hearts go out to her family, especially her mom, Yolanda, who was a big part of the Glee family and her son Josey,” they said.

“The three of us are currently in the process of creating a college fund for the beautiful son Naya loved most of all. ”

Since Naya’s passing many have paid tribute to not just her amazing talents as an actress but how wonderful of a mother the 33-year-old was.

In a touching message to the late star, her former Glee co-star Harry Shum Jr wrote: “We will make sure to keep your legacy and spirit alive so Josey will grow up to know the incredible woman you were.”
