WATCH: Gloria Gaynor tackles Covid-19 via ‘I Will Survive’ handwashing technique

She’s onto something here, lads.

Gloria Gaynor is more than just an icon – she’s a keeper of the peace.

This has only become more apparent during these dark and dismal times as the singer, performer, and general class act has taken to social media to provide us all with some necessary hygiene related information.

And stellar entertainment.

This week amid much of the coronavirus panic, she took to none other than social media platform TikTok to share her latest rendition of the classic ‘I Will Survive’ – featuring an important handwashing technique.

“It only takes 20 seconds TO SURVIVE,” she wrote, alluding to the fact that people should be washing their hands with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds to lessen the spread of Covid-19.

And just in general too. Good hygiene, you know?

This comes after a series of videos saw people from around the world washing their hands to the tune of a myriad of different songs.

After the British government encouraged the public to wash their hands the length of time it took to sing Happy Birthday, people have started incorporating their own favourite tracks into their techniques.

We’re talking Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Killing In The Name Of,’ we’re talking Taylor Swift’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do,’ and of course Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive.’
