There is growing concern over Mel B’s health, after reports this morning indicate the star has been moved to a high dependency unit in hospital. It is believed the X-Factor judge will miss the second half of the show’s final tonight, as doctors work to establish a cause for her mystery illness. According to The Mirror, the former Spice Girl is in a ‘serious’ condition, with a source adding there was ‘next to no chance’ of seeing her appear on the Sunday night show. Show bosses are concerned for Mel’s health after she was rushed to the hospital on Thursday evening. Since her hospitalisation, Simon has been in constant contact with Mel’s husband Steve Belfonte, about her condition: “Simon has been in constant contact with her husband to keep him updated. Simon hasn’t spoken to Mel because she cannot use her phone but has been fully ­informed about her condition. “Cheryl has also expressed ­concern. Mel is such a livewire. Everyone is really, really stunned at how quickly this illness took hold of her. Simon is in shock, we are all in shock.” Mel was replaced by former judge Tulisa Contostavlos on last night’s show, which saw her act Andrea Faustini eliminated at the final stages.
