'He hasn't asked me yet': Love Island's Laura and Paul still aren't official

With Love Island 2018 well and truly over, we’re now waiting to see which couples go the distance and which just… don’t.

Yes, we’re evil, but really – the few months after the show ends and its contestants adjust to being celebrities tend to be make-or-break.

Already we know that Samira and Frankie have gone their separate ways while things have reportedly been rocky for Elle and Charlie.

Others have taken a slower approach to their relationships, with Laura Anderson revealing that she and partner Paul Knops aren’t yet official.

When asked on a red carpet this week what their relationship status was, the Scot replied;

“You need to ask him!

“It’s just chilled. I’m older, I don’t want to ruin it before it gets started. We just want to have normal lives together and when we know it’s going to be something really, really long in the pipeline then we’ll tell everybody.”

The couple’s schedules have meant they haven’t spent much time together recently, she continued.

A post shared by Paul Knops (@paulknopsie) on

“We’re not seeing anyone else, we’re exclusively together but he hasn’t asked me to be his girlfriend yet.

“We’ve come out, only spent a few weeks together and then he’s been away so now he’s going to come back and we’re going to be work, work, work, in each other’s pockets so time will tell.”

Laura also rubbished rumours that she and Paul had broken up, saying they’d simply been on separate holidays.

“A little bit of speculation on the relationship can be difficult,” she said.

“It’s like ‘No we haven’t, we’re just on holiday!’.”
