Her Girl Crush… Eleven Reasons We Love And Adore Mindy Kaling

Every week it brings us great joy to highlight one famous woman we think the world of. There are many wonderful women who have featured on our Girl Crush list so far, but when it comes to comedy crushes - Mindy Kaling is one of the very best. And she pretty much runs the show Mindy created the show as well as stars in it. She also serves as a co-executive producer, director, and writer of several of the show's episodes. No biggie. Swoon.   3. Before that, she won our hearts as Kelly Kapoor on The Office     4. THIS is the title of her book It's like she's reading our minds.   5. She's been in a Pixar movie Yup. Mindy is Taffyta Muttonfudge.   6. She's named after the TV show Mork and Mindy According to Cosmo, Mindy's parents were living in Nigeria when they were pregnant with her and planning a move to the US. They wanted a 'cute American name', and found inspiration in retro TV show Mork and Mindy.     7. She shows her love for her mum in a very sweet way Mindy's mother, Dr. Swati Chokalingam, was an obstetrician/gynecologist, like the character Mindy created and plays for The Mindy Project. Epic tribute.   8. Her reaction to this Elle cover was *perfect*.  When some people (with very little to do?) wondered why it was a close-up and not a full body shot, Mindy took to Twitter to say: "I love my Elle magazine cover.
