She stole our hearts as the fearless Rose DeWitt Bukater who fell in love with Jack Dawson, but it seems some of the magic of the role came down to Kate’s unusual acting methods.
Now, we have one more reason to adore the actress – after it came out that the decided to flash Leonardo DiCaprio before they had to film their first scene together to alleviate the nerves.
According to Cosmopolitan, when Kate realised she had to be naked in front of her co-star, she decided to break the ice by flashing Leo when they met on-set for the first time.
The naked scene then ended up being the first scene the duo filmed together.
And if that’s not enough, it seems Kate had her own creative input, with director James Cameron agreeing that the actress had an active part in the script.
Speaking about one of her most famous lines “This is where we first met” as Rose and Jack clung to the ship before sinking, Cameron said it was Kate who decided to add the impromptu line while filming.
Cameron also adds that Kate decided to spit in Cal’s face for effect – but never mentioned her plans to co-star Billy Zane…
We’d say he would’ve been a lot angrier had the film not been such a huge box-office success…
