According to reports, the Queen has requested that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle return to the UK next month.

It’s thought that the monarch wants the couple to attend the annual Commonwealth service which is due to take place in Westminster Abbey.

The service is scheduled for March 9 and The Sunday Times reports that the Queen has invited the Sussex family.

It’s thought that they will arrive in the UK with their son Archie and attend the event in addition to ” a final round of official engagements”.

They will then return to Canada, where they’re started a new life for themselves away from the public eye.

Although the Queen has made this request, she’s said to be “unfazed” and completely relaxed about their plans.

When the move to Canada was announced, Queen Elizabeth II released an official statement, wishing them well.

“Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family.

Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family.

I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life.

I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family.

It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life”.

The news comes after Meghan and Harry made their first public appearance together since announcing their decision to step down as senior royals.

They’re thought to have attended a private event in Miami held by JP Morgan, a global financial services company. It’s thought that Harry was a speaker at the event although a spokesperson for the company declined to comment on this report.

In recent week, it’s been suggested that the family of three may move to Los Angeles for the summer months and are thought to be in the process of looking at potential homes.

This is where Meghan grew up and where her mum Doria Ragland lives, although at this early stage, nothing has been confirmed.
