Singer Katy Perry has revealed that she has not ruled out a reconciliation with ex John Mayer.

The couple dated following her split from husband Russell Brand but despite rumours of an engagement, parted ways earlier this year. While there have been rumours in recent weeks that she had rekindled an old romance with Florence And The Machine guitarist Rob Ackroyd, Perry admitted in an interview with Chelsea Handler that she wasn’t sure about what the future held for her relationship with noted bad- boy Mayer.

“I know it sounds really hippie-s–t, but I’m living in the now and not fantasizing about the future or (being) torn up about the past. I’m super Eckhart Tolle. I have a lot of respect for (John) still, and I know it goes both ways,” she said.

When asked whether she had been enjoying one-night stands during her time as a single woman, Perry said that she had “never been that way” and had gone between six months and a year without having sex in the past. However, she added that she didn’t tend to be self-controlled in the bedroom department.

“I don’t stay single for long. I’m not like Professor Higgins with my sex life,” she said.

“I’m not super strict. For one, the most important thing about sex is connection.”

The full interview will appear in the global July issue of Cosmopolitan.
