Light up, light up… lyrics to a famous Snow Patrol song and no doubt what the folk up north of the country are singing tonight as they witness Aurora Borealis in all its glory.
The Northern Lights have been clearly visible in parts of Co. Donegal this evening, providing photographer Rita Wilson with the perfect subject for shooting.
Rita captured the rare and incredible colourful display in this next spectacular shot.
The Northern Lights is due to electronically charged particles from the sun that enter the earth’s atmosphere and creates this magical scene.
