She may have parted with the X Factor on bad terms but Cheryl Cole is going back for more, having confirmed this evening that she has signed a deal to rejoin the reality show.
The Girls Aloud singer posted a photo of herself and boss Simon Cowell on Instagram to announce the news, referencing their previous falling out with the message: GUESS WHAT!!.. I'm baaaacccckkkkk!!!! #iMayActuallyRingHisNeck #XFactor2014 #leggooo.
Cheryl was sensationally fired from the X Factor USA before the series went to air and went on to take a legal case to recoup her promised multi-million euro fee. While full details of her new deal have yet to be confirmed, it is understood that the Geordie star will receive in the region of £1.5m for the upcoming season.
The show's producers will no doubt hope that the singer will boost the show's flagging ratings, following a disappointing last series and the departure of American star Nicole Scherzinger from the panel.
Simon Cowell also confirmed the news tonight, sending a tweet to welcome Cole back to the show.
