Former Strictly Come Dancing star James Jordan has said the current series of the show is the worst ever.

Speaking to Closer magazine, the professional dancer who was axed from the show this year, said the show is “struggling”.

“The ratings are down. They’re struggling without Bruce Forsyth hosting or me dancing. It’s the worst Strictly ever.

“I think Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are both amazing but I do believe there should be a man presenting it too” said James.

On Saturday, James tweeted criticism about TOWIE star Mark Wright who danced the Pasodoble with professional dancer Karen Hauer.

Thirty six-year-old James wrote: “Mark. And that’s why I’m happy I’m not back. Nice guy but pathetic idea. Makes a mockery of ballroom and Latin”.

James’ wife Ola Jordan is currently dancing in this year’s series of Strictly but has reportedly voiced doubts about returning to the show after this year.

Strictly Come Dancing goes head to head with the X Factor each weekend and it had been winning in the ratings until last weekend when X Factor took over by 300,000 viewers.

According to Metro UK, it was a very close shave with X Factor coming in at 8.79 million viewers and the dance contest at 8.49 million.
